The Top Ten - week ending 25 June 2016

Happy Saturday, my fellow loungers!

For everyone in Great Britain, the world is feeling for you, anticipating the results of the referendum. How about we all take a step back, put on some headphones, and escape that reality for just a little while. Let's consider the season, and the warmth of the Summer sun, and the sounds that it brings.

Welcome to Summer. Enjoy!

Lemongrass has beat out SAMBOX this week for the top spot. Obviously, that laidback sound of theirs has struck a chord with listeners. Phigroa & ArnoB just can seem to leave, as the votes continue to come in to maintain their presence. Cantoma makes a jump up as their Summer song continues to impress.

The Warheads tribute to the shootings in Florida, Orlando, makes it's leap to the chart from Bubbling Under. A well deserved piece of music here on This is Lounge. The world thanks you. Stay tuned to hear this epic piece.

Speaking of thank you's, allow me to thank all of you for tuning in and supporting the station, and spreading the word through a grassroots word-of-mouth. People continue to discover the station for the first time, and tell me about it. It's a great feeling. Thanks. Your support for the station and the artists continues to keep the music alive.

The Top Ten - week ending 18 June 2016

Happy Saturday, my fellow loungers!

Welcome to The Top Ten! Thanks to your votes, the chart has some interesting developments. Congrats to SAMBOX, who has regained his position atop the chart! Wow! Phigroa & ArnoB also continue to make progress up the chart, after previous;y losing some ground. Cologne is fast becoming the longest running song in the history of the chart!

The smooth chillout sounds of Lemongrass, from their latest album jumps up to the second position, leaving a very strong top three.

Papik returns to the chart with the transition from Bubbling Under, with Fujiko's Theme

A very special track was rushed to the playlist this week. A huge shoutout to The Warheads for passing along this heartfelt composition, Orlando, in honour of the slain brothers and sisters in Florida.  Tune in daily to hear this extremely beautiful piece of music.

Thanks for all the support here at the station. With all the area blackouts, we've come through it all, with many countries being returned to being active. Some areas may still be affected, but keep checking back as zone blackouts could still be lifted.

Thanks to all the cafés, stores, and waiting rooms that stream This is Lounge. If you hear the station anywhere, please let me know. You help spread the sounds on the front line, and I truly appreciate it. Who wouldn't like to be put on hold at a doctor's office and be forced to listen to This is Lounge?!

Have a great weekend, everyone! Enjoy the sunshine!

The Top Ten - week ending 11 June 2016

Happy Saturday, my fellow loungers!

Weather here today, in my part of the world, is a like a joke Mother Nature is playing - the temperatures are forecast to go into the mid-30's, yet we are also expected to get rain.

Guess we'll have to sit back, and relax, indoors listening to This is Lounge.

Congrats to Benjamin Biolay for breaking through SAMBOX's grip on the number one position. Of course, it takes one Frenchman to upset another, and they are both welcome anywhere on the chart! Lemongrass leapfrogged up the charts this week, thanks to your votes and the votes around the station.

Phigroa remains healthy on the chart, as he continues to receive fan support. Your votes at www.thisislounge.com are an integral part of the programming here, as you can see. So keep 'em coming!

Welcome to Cantoma (aka Phil Mison), as the title track from their new release, Just Landed, joins the fray a number ten. It's a wonderful collection of chilled pleasure. In no time, I'm sure, we shall see Sea of Blue make it's rise from Bubbling Under.

We also integrated a few more new sounds from Papik, Soundcloud discovery Emapea, Matt Smith's Birth of the Fool, and German musician Torsten Luederwaldt. So stay tuned and hear all these wonderful new tracks throughout the day and night, commercial free, here on This is Lounge.

As always, links are provided to help you download your faves directly from the artist or iTunes. If you prefer other sources, please make sure it is from a legitimate site in support of the artist.

The Top Ten - week ending 4 June 2016

The sunshine and warm weather has finally settled into my little corner of the world. The first phase of my patio reno is complete. So I still have a little time to enjoy it before continuing to the next phase.

Shoutout to SAMBOX again this week for maintaining his number one supremacy. A great track, and totally deserving. Lanu comes in at number two, and Benjamin Biolay leapfrogs into third spot.

Welcome to Giacomo Bondi, as he moves up from Bubbling Under with his Beatles redux rendition, and if you've been paying attention, (I'm sure that you have) we have some new releases from Papik and Cantoma joining the playlist this week with some great new music.

Thanks for all your support, and thank you for supporting the artists. Don't forget to go to the station website (www.thisislounge.com) and vote for your fave Top Ten toon!
