The Top Ten - week ending 2019 August 10

Happy Saturday, my fellow loungers!

The Summer here just won't quit! Our humid heat wave finally broke and we are in a comfortable mid to high 20's! Perfect!

Enough about the weather, let's talk about the music.....

This week we had a "double whammy" as Michael e not only celebrated his birthday, but he took the opportunity to release a brand spanking new album, appropriately titled, Summertime. After previewing the tracks on iTunes, I must say that I was not disappointed! A great selection from Michael. Highly recommended!

This is Lounge debuted the tirle track from Summertime on the day of it's release. Naturally, it comes Bubbling Under this week.

Not to be overwhelmed by this news, I should also announce that Wish de Nuit has reached number one this week! Their beautiful, summery chillhop tune has grown on everyone, it seems. Not too shabby for a band that normally works the hip hop and rap genres!  Congrats to the band.

Your support is greatly appreciated, so please feel free to explore any of the artists played on This is Lounge. Order music through their Bandcamp page, if they have one. Contact them and tell them that you heard their music on This is Lounge. The longer you keep listening, the longer we stay on the air. A heartfelt thank you to all of you that take the time to listen.

Don't forget....if your a Cocktail Nation fan, be sure to tune in this afternoon at 6:00 pm (18:00h) Toronto time for our weekly sneak preview. Then, directly following Koop Kooper, it's our special Saturday night programming.

Until next week,

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 3 August 2019

What a summer!

Is it hot enough for you? Wow! I'm not sure about you and your location, but us Canadians who complain about how cold the Winter is not has something new to complain about - the Summer!

Time to hit the beaches and cool down. Then the patio of a local establishment, and through the convenience of those air buds, the sounds of Lounge over their wifi. Chill your inside, outside, and your mind. Ahhhhh.......

Not a lot of changes to the chart this week. With the votes down a little, I can only credit it to the nice weather keeping people away from their computers. But remember, everyone....you can vote on your smartphones, or on a tablet. Help us continue to bring you the smooth sounds of Summer. Stay tuned and keep voting!

On to the chart, Alex Cortiz and Frou Frou remain steadfast in the top two positions, as Wish de Nuit moved into third.

Japanese Breakfast finally moved up enough to land at number nine.  Nicely chilled Tears For Fears cover!

Thanks you so much for tuning in. I know how much competition there is out there for you ears and your attention. But thanks for putting us on during your cocktail party or barbecue. Don't forget the sneak preview of the new Cocktail Nation episode, tonight at 6:00 pm ET.

Thanks for all the support, for the station and the artists. Keep us on the air!

Until next week,

Stay chilled.
