The Top Ten - week ending 25 May 2019

Welcome back, my fellow loungers!

I hope that you are all enjoying your Spring! The warm weather is fighting it's way in, as Mother Nature continues to battle to keep the temperatures below normal, and that incessant rain at bay.

I'm all excited this week to see Michael e move into the number one position this week. He pushes all the right chillout buttons with A Nice Warm Feeling. Followed closely behind is Spear Oh and Christophe Goze in the second and third positions respectively.

And with Poolz and Alex Cortiz following behind them, it's a wonderful looking (and sounding) top half of the chart!

We say goodbye to Wane of Summer, but welcome another Warheads track. Since it's been simmering off the chart, Mechanical Means joins the group at number ten.

Moving into the Bubbling Under area is our old friend Crazyjazz, with another fine chillhop track, taken from a recent compilation called Brunch Collect. Check the Crazyjazz link below for downloading info.

Thank you all so much for listening. Kudos to those of you who have us as the music on your office phone. No one likes to be put on hold, so why not keep them calm with the sounds of This is Lounge.

Until next week, enjoy your weekend, and be sure to turn us on at some point, and we'll make sure to turn you on!

Until then,

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 18 May 2019

Welcome back to the Top Ten!

Saturday has finally arrived! It is a long weekend here, and the annual time to begin getting the gardens planted and the backyard oasis in order. Tables, chairs, outdoor seating, fire pits.......and of course bluetooth speakers! We all know that music is not seasonal, yet something about the rebirth of Spring and the warm weather makes us all come out of hibernation with a vengeance, as those smooth tunes make us feel so good.

I'm so glad that you came over to my little corner of the world.
We have a great Top Ten this week - including a new number one! Dutch ambient artist Poolz moves into the top spot this week, followed closely by Michael e. I have to admit, the votes this week were close.

Filling in the third position this week is Spear Oh, with his cool chillhop track, The Bay.

Lots of smooth music for these warmer days. Thank you for all your support.

Until next week,

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 2019 May 11

Happy Saturday, everyone!

As the gardening season begins, what better accompaniment than the smooth sounds of This is Lounge. Nothing could be more relaxing.

So nice to see Spear Oh in the top spot this week. The indie chillhop/ hip hop artist is spreading some cool vibes at his Soundcloud page. be sure to check him out. Dutch master Poolz continues to improve with his ambient soundscapes. He so deserves to be here....and here is number two on the chart this week. Michael e rounds out the top three with his beautiful A Nice Warm feeling, taken from his latest release.

Lots of wonderful new sounds Bubbling Under, as Keren Ann is making some heads turn with the title track from her latest album, Bleu.  British electro duo, Frou Frou, featuring the vocal stylings of Ms. Imogen Heap has also been talked around the station, as Guitar Song (live) joins the Bubbling Under bunch. Congrats to all, as you make the station sound so good.

Thanks to you, the listener, as well. Your support and extended listening  keeps the station on the air. And please continue to support the artists on the station with a download or two, as opposed to streaming. Yeah...yeah, I know....listening here is just streaming, right? But do those other options push you to download? Very few, if any.

In the meantime, enjoy the weekend, and we'll see you next Saturday. Until then,

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 4 May 2019

It's the first Saturday in May, and Spring is well underway.

We're finally getting long-term "double digit" temperatures here. For us Canadians, it is long overdue. I hope the Spring has arrived early in your part of the world. And what better way to enjoy this warm weather than with the smooth sounds of This is Lounge.

Thank you all so very much for tuning in. Unlike a streaming mix, you can put us on and leave us one....for hours!

Our Top Ten this week is looking mighty fine. With new music from some "heavy hitters" in the genre of chillout, we're bringing you some great new sounds in pretty heavy rotation.

So, without further ado, let's check this week's chart out!

We have a new number one this week, as Poolz takes his place with his beautiful track, Home. Following behind at number two is Soundcloud chillhop discovery, Spear Oh, and Jazzy James Jr. drops to number three.

Coming up fast and furious are new tracks from Michael e, Alex Cortiz, and  Christophe Goze, not to mention the rising star that is DJ Maretimo.

Thank you all for your support. Spread the word. Tune us in at work! Vote for your favourite song at www.thisislounge.com

Until next week,

Stay chilled
