and 4th in the Eclectic chart.

Over here it was really winter time..
the wind was howling around the house..
it was cold outside, but inside it was nice and warm
Just like this set.. Inside .. there is where it counts
Outside is nice , but ..
Don't choose the one who is beautiful to the world. But rather, choose the one who makes your world beautiful.

Yantra Mantra - Hum Tum

The Top Ten - week ending 02-21-2015

As I sit hunched over my computer, a light snowfall is happening outside, adding a few more centimetres to what is already there. Hibernation is a perfect time to work on this post.
As the new songs begin to trend and the older ones slide off, the New Releases are in a constant state of flux. Breaking through and bumping Karen Souza from the top spot, veteran DJ Sven Van Hees takes the Number One position with Sulco Brasilia. It must be this North American cold snap that has listeners longing for a warmer Brasilian-like climate.
Another track from Diana Krall's Wildflower album inches up from the bottom to make room for Jamie Cullum's Good Morning Heartache. Nice to see Jamie's new material culled from jazz history.
The film, and the soundtrack to, Fifty Shades of Grey continues to be on everyone's eyes, ears, and lips. Not to be outdone here at This is Lounge, a small indie band has started to get some attention for their work on the soundtrack to Jason Reitman's new film, Men, Women & Children.
Known collectively as The Plantains, Nick Hallett and Ray Sweeten have included an extremely stripped down version of the Donna Summer/ Giorgio Moroder classic, I Feel Love on the soundtrack. With the imminent release of this film after it's film fest circuit run, the buzz will start to grow on this. Not exactly a New Release, but since it October 2014 placement on iTunes, I can see it's slow trend happening, and that's why it's the only "Bubbling Under" track this week. I'm very excited to be adding this to the playlist. It's more than just jazz, more than just chill - This is Lounge!

The Top Ten - week ending 02-13-2015

Happy Valentine's Day !

Ah, I can hear the sounds of love already....coming from the station!

We see the rise and fall of new music this week. Mr. Sinatra's Witchcraft, from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, jumps into the fray at Number 9, and I Can't Tell You Why, from Ms. Krall's Wallflower album.
Karen Souza has been bumped from Number One by Jojo Effect latest, and Alex Cortiz hangs on with one of his two charted songs.
Jamie Cullum remains "bubbling under"....until next week.

Sorry, no special Valentine programming this weekend. I had no time to prepare....maybe next year. But do enjoy Sunday' regular all-chill morning (5:00AM -1:00 PM Eastern Standard Time).

The Top Ten - week ending 02-06-2015

What a crazy week in the jazz world for New Releases! Tracks from the long-awaited release of Diana Krall's Wallflower and Jamie Cullum's Interlude have been quickly filling up the iTunes Top 100 Jazz Chart here in Canada, and no doubt the rest of the world.
The Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, as well, is topping the Pop charts with tracks from Beyonce and The Weeknd. Thankfully, the producers added a little "old school class", including Frank Sinatra's 1957 Cy Coleman classic, Witchcraft.
Tracks from all of these are seeping into the Top Ten and New Release playlist on This is Lounge. Stay tuned......

Bubbling Under:
Diana Krall - I Can’t Tell You Why
Frank Sinatra - Witchcraft
Jamie Cullum - Good Morning Heartache (feat. Laura Mvula)
