The Top Ten - week ending 22 December 2018

Happy holidays, my fellow loungers!!!

Just a few more sleeps before Santa arrives! And with that being said, I must announce that the Top Ten will be on hiatus until January 12, as the station enjoys some time with their friends and family. So, this week will have to last you until the new year, I'm afraid. Hopefully, Santa will bring some new music to share.

Looking at this week's chart, it's looking pretty darn good to last through to the new year. We have a new number one this week as the Groove Gauchos slide into number one, knocking Molly Johnson into number two, and Sambox into number three.

And with Vanessa Paradis, (sounding like the soundtrack to a James Bond film) jumps into the group from Bubbling Under with On Oubliera, from her new album.

Thank you for a wonderful year. Your support and kind words humble me. I'm just glad that there are fans of the station out there.....and please, continue to spread the word, pass along links to the station, our website, or our host Radionomy.

Thank you for another year of artist support. You are keeping the music alive.

Stay tuned till next year, and as always,

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 15 December 2018

Welcome back, my fellow loungers!

With the festive season upon us, I hope that you're enjoying the jazz and chill Christmas tracks we've been throwing into the mix. As a side note, as usual on Christmas Day, there will be all Christmas music! So, tune in, relax, and enjoy.

For those of you that like to listen from your phone, head over to the App store and look for the Radionomy app. Once installed, search for "This is Lounge", click on it, save it as a favorite, and press play! The ads will be minimal (Radionomy is running a misleading ad from Calm Radio....to clear things, This is Lounge is NOT a Calm Radio station.!)

The Top Ten this week has some significant movement, as we see Molly Johnson leap frog into the number one position. Must be a lot of Molly fans....or Leonard Cohen fans out there!

From the House of Maretimo, the Groove Gauchos climb into the second spot, followed by the trailing Paul Blackford

Without your support and listenership, we would not be on the air. Thanks for spreading the word. We're open 24/ 7, here when you need that chilled romantic mix.

Until next week,

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 8 December 2018

Welcome back, my frigid fellow loungers!

Yes, as that recently controversial song goes, "baby, it's cold outside"! Only a couple of more weeks until the Winter Solstice, the first day of Winter, the day before the full moon, and the beginning of the days of longer daylight.

Wow! All that AND Christmas, too! What a season!

In the midst of all the office Christmas parties, and jostling fellow shoppers in the stores, it's nice to take some chill time and relax a bit. And that's what This is Lounge is here for. Sitting in a cafe right now reading this? Then go to your favorite player app, or click on this link: http://bit.ly/1xyD8HI  and listen to the smooth and romantic sounds of This is Lounge. Ahhhhhh....there, is that better?

Now let's see about what you came here for..... The Top Ten.

Looks like Paul Blackford has swapped positions with Citrus Jam for the top two positions, as Toronto jazz singer, Molly Johnson jumps into third!

Lots of action, as we see the cool bossa sound of the Groove Gauchos move in behind Molly to take the fourth position.

Kudos to Paul Blackford this week, as he now has two songs in the Top Ten. Joining Baked not Fried is a track from his new album, Commodore Plus. Enjoy.

And enjoy your weekend, everyone! Perhaps you can finally finish that Christmas shopping and take some time for yourself! Whatever the case, thanks for doing it with This is Lounge.

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 1 December 2018

Seasons Greetings, my fellow loungers!

Here at This is Lounge, the Christmas season officially begins today, as some festive programming seeps into the mix over the next four weeks. Ho ho ho!

Not really any big changes this week. Citrus Jam maintains his position at number one. Molly Johnson has halfway up the chart now with her Leonard Cohen cover, and Sambox has swapped tracks - Keep Love has dropped off the chart, while Solar Wind has jumped on at number nine.

You may have noticed this week tht a track from the new Vanessa Paradis album has made it's way into our group. After some debate, it was decided that the "more downtempo, less pop" feel of On Oubliera would fit nicely between the jazz and chill of the station. I'm sure we'll be seeing her in the Top Ten sometime soon.

In the meantime, enjoy the festive Christmas programming. If you're looking for a great gift for a music lover, there's nothing better than something from one of our artists. A great way to support the music!

Enjoy your weekend everyone, and....

Stay Chilled!
