The Top Ten - week ending 26 August 2017

Happy Saturday, my fellow loungers!

Or, it could be Sunday on your side of the planet. I'm late posting this as I was busy all day doing last minute things prior to my daughter's flight home tonight. Having seen her through check-in and security at the airport, I am home now with the time to bring you all up to date on the latest Top Ten.

Apologies for those of you listening for the Cocktail Nation Sneak Preview earlier today. Unfortunately, I was kept too busy and unable to get it into the playlist. You can, however, check back tomorrow when the full podcast will be here for all of you to listen to.

Despite my busy "tourist" schedule, I still managed to get the Top Ten together for this week. Congrats to indie artist, Seneca B, as she made it to number one this week, ousting Hudson from their spot. Portugal, The Man continues it's flip/flop, repositioning itself at number three again.

Polished Chrome continues it's rise, as does Phigroa, and this week Lana Del Rey's Heroin makes the jump from Bubbling Under.

A late entry to the station, Christopher Goze's latest single, I Will Always Love You, (I can't believe I missed it's release a few months ago) has been enjoying airtime this week, along with Brooklyn NY ambient popsters, Cigarettes After Sex. Both enjoy the newfound placement in Bubbling Under.

Thanks for tuning in and supporting the station and our artists. Thanks to those who voted for us on Mixcloud for Best Online Station. Keep spreading the word.

And keep voting for your fave Top Ten track at www.thisislounge.com

Until next time....

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 19 August 2017

Welcome back, my fellow loungers!

As the summer continues for a little while longer, I hope you are all taking advantage of the sunshine. Is it just me, or has the Summer gone by too quickly? It always seems that we try to cram in so much fun in the few short months of Summer that we don't take the time to relax as much as we would like to.

Not to despair, we enjoy it while we can. As I play tourist in my province, it's a wonderful time - enjoying all the sights and sounds that go with it.

....and what sounds!

Cool jazz and warm breezes......chilled vibes and hot sun......

This is Lounge is all that and more. Thanks for tuning in. Let's get right to the Top Ten this week.

Well, Hudson continues to maintain it's number one position, with Portugal, The Man taking an enexpected step back up to number two.  Coffee-drinking chillhop artist, Halberd, slides into number three, followed by NY guitarist Phigroa in the fourth position.

Newcomer Polished Chrome moves up a couple of spots to number eight, as his long-awaited new chillout garners more fans as well as airplay.

Thanks for all your support. Thanks for voting for your fave track at www.thisislounge.com. Be sure to support the artists here by clicking on the links or by visiting your favourite download store.

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 12 August 2017

Welcome back, my fellow loungers!

Apologies for the posting so late in the day (or evening).  I've been busy enjoying the Summer and hosting my daughter's visit and playing tourist in my home.

I know that this is not the time of year one should be on the computer, so I shall be brief.

Once again, Hudson remain atop the leaderboard, followed by chillhop artist, Seneca B. Our other two previous number ones - Portugal, The Man and Alex Cortiz slip down to numbers three and four respectively. An exquisite top four, if I do say so myself.

Phigroa continues his ascendance as Sambox continues to hold his position, sitting at number seven.

Big news this week is the long-awaited release of the new Polished Chrome album, Happiness. As promised last week, new music in the form of Dreamland leapfrogs Bubbling Under status to go right to number ten. The album is not a disappointment as they bring their electronic chill sound to the world. Be sure to check it out!

I said this would be brief. So click on the links for your fave and buy a download or two. Head on over to www.thisislounge.com to cast your vote for your fave. Your financial support throught the donation button would be truly appreciated, as is your artist support.

So, get off your phone or your computer and go enjoy some Summer (or Winter if you are in Brasil or Australia), along with some chilled tunes.

Thanks for tuning in.

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 5 August 2017

Happy Saturday!

As Europe lives through a stifling heat wave, I hope everyone over there is staying chilled. Like every lounger, we are water people - drawn to it, ingest it, and swim in it. So find a pool, a lake, a river, or a sea and stay hydrated inside and out. If you are in a wifi location, be sure to tune us in on your favourite mobile app.

Today is a special day for me, as my daughter arrives for a vacation. This, of course, means it's time to play tourist in my own country as we spend some time around our province.

I will certainly make sure that the music doesn't stop, as I take a little vacation time. I want to listen just as much as you do.

Speaking of the music, you may have notice some minor shifts this week. Hudson, the powerhouse jazz supergroup, finally knocked Portugal, The Man from the top spot. Congtratulations!

Seneca B and Halberd rise up as their Chillhop sounds are being enjoyed by more and more. Sambox continues to remain, slowly dropping by one position.

Looking forward to the new Polished Chrome release that came out yesterday. It's their first in a few years, so I'm sure that I'm not the only one looking forward to some new sounds from these guys. I'm sure there will be some new music from them on the station very shortly.

So, until next week, thank you for supporting the artists AND the station. Financially, your download purchases and station donations truly keep the music flowing.

Stay chilled.
