The Top Ten - week ending 29 September 2018

Happy Saturday, my fellow loungers!

Here in Toronto, we’re looking at a sunny, but cool 16C. Feels more like Spring than Fall. A nice day to clean up the patio and garden to the smooth sounds of This is Lounge.

What better way to leave Summer behind with one last hurrah – The Summer sound of Michael Franks residing at number one! Nothing like that smooth sound of his to take the edge off of the Autumn chill.

Coming in behind is a station favourite – The Warheads, followed closely by Clelia Felix.

This week saw the new release of another station favourite – Sambox. With a new track (Keep Love) from his last release (Ka Fè Cho) still working its way up the chart, you can be sure that we’ll have some more newer new music from him very soon.

No new Bubbling Under tracks this week. Stay tuned, though, as we add some new releases shortly.

As always, thanks for your support. Your word-of-mouth promotion of the station is helping keep us alive, as does your support of the station’s artists.

Enjoy your weekend. Tune in today at 6:00 pm Toronto time for the Cocktail Nation Sneak Preview. (The full show will be up tomorrow, as usual.)

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 22 September 2018

Welcome to the first day of Autumn!

Around here, anyway, Mother Nature got it bang on, as the temperature dropped from 29C yesterday to 16C today. Yikes! Time to get out those sweaters again!

As we ease in to the falling leaves season, be sure to take a few minutes to warm up with a little Autumn Chill  here on This is Lounge.

Michael Franks' summery sound may be the new number one this week, despite what the weather outside is, but he'll give you that warm, beach house feel no matter what time of the year.

Clelia Felix lost her place at the top this week to Michael, but she's still riding high in the second spot. She's another one with a summery bossa sound.

The aptly titled Summer Reading, coming to us from The Warheads,  rounds out the trifecta.

As you can see, Summer here is a state of mind.

Once again, let me use this platform to thank you all so much for your support. A big shoutout to my listeners in Germany, where my largest audience resides. The Germans do love their chill.

Also, a big thanks for supporting the artists. As I've said before, you are keeping thew music alive.

Everyone have a great weekend, and enjoy what little pockets of Summer are available. To the Australians, welcome to Spring!!!Those long hot Summer days will soon be upon you.

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 15 September 2018

Welcome back, my fellow loungers!

Apologies for making you wait so long for this posting. It's been a busy day.

Saturday is once again upon us. We are a week away from the official first day of Autumn, yet today's 28C feels nothing like what's coming. I'm enjoying it while I can.

The backyard oasis will soon be dismantled in anticipation of the colder weather - something that I am not looking forward to. But the soft, warm sounds of This Is Lounge helps warm the insides of the psyche, putting us in that romantic vacation state of mind.

And what better song to continue to top the chart this week, but Clelia Felix's soft bossa-beat Along The Coast, followed by Michael Franks and Audiobot.

This week see's TIL fave, Sambox, hop onto the chart with a track from his latest release, called Keep Love. Ahhhhh....sound advice!

Once again, a hearty thanks for tuning in. As the listening hours continue to grow, those of you who have found our island of calm on the internet are appreciative by your continuing clicking of the Play button.

Thank you for supporting the station and the artists. You keep that "circle of life" going. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and be sure to tune in at 18:00h (6:00pm) Toronto time for the weekly sneak preview of Koop Kooper's Cocktail Nation. Then, stick around for our special Saturday night programming.

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 8 September 2018

I'm back, my fellow loungers!

I can't believe that the Summer is almost (officially) drawing to a close. That may be true, but the (somewhat) warm weather continues to linger.

I enjoyed my time off with a visit from my daughter. It's always nice to catch up.

A far as the station goes, I've just been keeping the music going. Cocktail Nation has returned, along with this Top Ten. It seems a lot of you are returning from vacation as well, as the listener stats are beginning to return. Thank you so much. Your listening keeps the station alive!

Despite my vacation, some of you have continued to vote on the website for your fave Top Ten track. So here is the newest tabulation of the Top Ten.

Congrats to Clelia Felix, as Along The Coast has coasted in the top spot this week! Following close behind at number two is the chillhop sounds of Madbliss, and Michael Franks' summery soundtrack, To Spend The Day With You.

Great to hear some new music again from Sambox, as the track Keep Love from his latest release simmers in the Bubbling Under space.

Thanks for your support. Keep spreading the word. I know there's a lot of competition for your ears out there, so thanks for tuning in when you can. The more and longer that you tune in, the more that guarantees the music here continues. I thank you.

Hope you all have a great weekend, and.....

Stay chilled.
