The Top Ten - week ending 03-27-2015

The weeks are just flying by. I can barely keep up! That being said, I'm afraid there are no new Bubbling Under tracks this week. I've been busy with so many things, including compiling my new mix, Goodbye Winter, under the DJ Kazoo moniker. (See the link below.)
Rafael, I'm sorry, but you have been ousted from the first pole position. Your beautiful "colour series" song, Red, drops to number three as the two heavyweights of modern jazz, Diana Krall and Jamie Cullum, push you to of the way to come in second and third respectively.
Fellow members of Guido's Lounge Cafe group, Clive Button, Phigroa, and Escadet are all huddled together in the middle of the pack. So nice to be able to support such top notch artists who deserve to share the chart with people like Diana and Jamie.
One of the two new Blank and Jones tracks, Lovely Dae, breaks into the Top Ten this week, giving it the pleasure of a little more airtime.

Thanks for checking out the chart. Be sure to support these artists, live or on record or through digital download from your favourite retailer.

Saturday Night Redux

Hey everyone, spent some time with the playlist, making a Saturday Night-specific collection of toons for all to enjoy.

For a few hours, we leave the relaxing sound of most of our chillout sounds, kick off our shoes, and enjoy some sounds with more of a bite and more of a beat.

A perfect lead in to Sunday morning's relaxing tones.

Of course, if you are somewhere else in the world, outside of North America, the time may be restrictive. Tune in from 18:00 Saturday to 05:00 Sunday.......in another six hours approximately!

Click on the player to the right of the blog, or copy this link to play through Winamp or a player of your choice.

The Top Ten - week ending 03-20-2015

Spring is finally here officially. But I think she forgot to tell Winter to leave!
But we shall embrace Spring, at least in spirit with the warm sounds of This is Lounge.

Rafael Lubjanik continues to hold on to the top spot for a second week in a row. From news around the web, it appears he's topping jazz and chill charts around the world. Congrats Rafael!
Canadian Diana Krall continues to move up with I Can't Tell You Why, another wonderful cover from her Wallflower album.
Escadet has entered the charts at number ten with the title track from their just released album, Eternelle. The album is a beautiful selection of chillout, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for something new.
As mentioned earlier this week, Blank & Jones have released, on iTunes, two new tracks from their upcoming Milchbar - Seaside 7 release. They've been thrown into the mix all week here at the station, and I'm proud to officially include them as "Bubbling Under".  Joining B&J is Merv de Peyer. You may recognize Merv and his DeepLoungeMusic moniker for his swell lounge covers of hit pop songs. Just this week, Merv posted a serious jazz cover of the classic Summertime to his Soundcloud page. I am proud to show off his serious jazz side as well with this beautiful version. (By the way, it's a free download on his page, so click on the Bubbling Under link below to grab it, and many others as well.)

As usual, please show your support for these and all the This is Lounge artists through iTunes, Amazon, Juno, Bandcamp, etc.

Blank and Jones New Teaser Releases

As the warmer weather continues to surround the northern hemisphere, musicians such as Blank and Jones prepare to give us a new soundtrack to the sun.

Milchbar // Seaside Season 7 will be released April 5. But to give us just a taste, two tracks from that CD have been released on iTunes. Pre-orders are being taken now at iTunes and Amazon.

Sunkissed and Lovelee Dae are two diverse sounding examples of Blank and Jones exquisite love of summer sounds and culture.

That being said, those two new teaser tracks have been added to the This is Lounge New Release playlist, as trending, "Bubbling Under" songs.

Starting tomorrow, tune in anytime to hear these two wonderful new tracks: a most welcome addition to the station's sound.

The Top Ten - week ending 03-14-2015

Well, another week has passed as we inch closer to the warmth of the summer. We may not be there yet in body, but we can achieve that warmth through the sounds and spirit of This is Lounge radio.
Jumping into Number one this week is Rafael Lukjanik's smooth jazz sound of Red. A wonderful song and musician, Rafael is a pleasure to have on this playlist.
Sven Van Hees slips down to number five, still maintaining a lot of airplay, as the latest from Diana Krall scoots to number four.
Phil Phigeroa's Contemplation breaks into The Top Ten this week at number nine, followed by Clive Button, who announces that Love Is All We Need.

A special shoutout this week to Stéphane Klepper and his group Escadet. Their beautiful album release this week caught my attention. Everyone here at the station is chilling to this wonderful album. Because of this, the title track has joined The Top Ten as this week's "Bubbling Under" feature.

Tune in to This is Lounge 24/7, to hear these, and other wonderful jazz and chill tracks.

Please support these and all the artists played on This is Lounge.

Thanks for all the support. There are no ads on This is Lounge. These sounds do not lend themselves well to be broken up with crass commercials. Please consider donating, as well as listening, to keep the music going. Gotta keep that listenership up to avoid being taken down.

Please feel free to comment, here or by email

Alyssa Zezza - Killer Joe/You're Love Is King

Guido's Lounge Cafe Broadcast 0157 Espresso Pure

Always a pleasure to share my friend's wonderful mixes, and this one is no exception. A shoutout to The Mixing Chef for inspiring Guido for his opening song. That's the little creative push it takes to get your mind in music mode. So, sit back and relax, and let the music take you on a journey.....

I got a track by Kristof (The Mixing Chef)
and like a few of you know.. Sade always gives me inspiration.
So started to look for tracks..
but be for I knew it was kinda Jazzy, didn't want that..
So i sprinkle a little soul to it even some trip hop beats..
Tried to keep things smooth,
slipping and sliding from one track to another...
Let's hope you will feel the joy like I did creating it :)
00:00 Sade - I Never Thought I'd See The Day (The Mixing Chef Ableton Push Jam Along)
04:21 Spinne - In My Place
10:41 Dave Sereny - St. Tropez

20:59 Cottonbelly - Speechless

The Top Ten - week ending 03-06-2015

Another month has come to a close as we inch ever closer to Spring. I, for one, cannot wait for the warmer weather.
But we have The Top Ten to make us feel better, along with the may other smooth grooves on This is Lounge.
We had some wonderful new tracks join the playlist this week. A Soundcloud find with a funny name, Vader Records 403 appears to be a fellow Canadian posting some wonderful instrumental covers. I was very impressed with this Green Day cover that strips back the song even further. It joins the chart at Number 8.
The best thing about Pablo Nouvelle is Best Thing reaching Number One!!! Can you believe that this is the B-Side? Taken from his 2014 single release, Heartbeat, I think Pablo has a whole secondary market with this track. Congratulations Pablo!
Another Bubbling Under track joins The Top Ten, as The Plantains haunting cover of I Feel Love squeaks in at Number 10.
Speaking of Bubbling Under, we have two new chillout tracks easing into the playlist. Congrats to Phigroa (aka Phil Figeroa) and Clive Button. You are most deserving additions.
So without further ado, here's is this week's Top Ten list.

Bubbling Under
Phigroa - Contemplation (ft. Michel Martineau)
Clive Button - Love Is All We Need

It should go without saying, that I invite you all to support these artist's work through iTunes, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Juno, their own websites.....Help them achieve the success they are striving for.
