Cocktail Nation 499 Get Smart

Tune in Saturday nights at 18:00 EST Toronto time (6:00 pm) for a Sneak Preview of the week's show. Shake that martini, and relax in your bachelor pad as Koop Kooper takes us on a musical journey through that Exotica and Tiki world of the 50's and 60's.

Mr. Jason Whiton is on the show this week to talk spys from his website spyvibe.com, with a look at the TV series Get Smart. I thought musically we will focus on spy-fi and crime music for the show, and for a bit of fun, we talk Batman. Plus, I’ve got a story of a missing Bond car for you.

The Top Ten - week ending 2018 August 4

Omigosh! The Summer is half over!

As we enter into the first few days of August, for some of you, this is the hottest month of the year. More people are probably on vacations in August than any other month of the year. So before the air temperature starts dipping, really take advantage and find a cool body of water to stay close to for awhile......and an internet connection, if you can! How else would you be expected to stay tuned to This is Lounge?

Sipping cocktails or coffee? Reading a book? Nothing beats the romantic sounds of This is Lounge as perfect background music to your Summer chill time.

If you're a Jazz or Chillout fan, we have something for everyone. This week's Top Ten, as well as the regular playlist, has a plethora (!?) of those sounds. This week, jazz percussionist Steve Gadd has retained his number one position, while Clelia Felix's bossa beat, coming in this week at number two, reminds me of the Brazilian shoreline. Ah, Summer......

The chillhop sounds of Madbliss drops down a notch to number three this week.

Jumping in from Bubbling Under is Summer Reading, one of the many new tracks from The Warheads. It's hard to keep up with their output sometimes!

Thanks for tuning in, and be sure to tell your friends - share us on Twitter or Facebook. Leave a comment on the website. While you're there, be sure to cast your vote for your favourite Top Ten track.

Until next week.....

Stay chilled.
