The Top Ten - week ending 26 May 2018

Welcome back, fellow loungers!

This week certainly went by fast...no doubt due to the four-day work week here. Gotta love long weekends!

It's been a gorgeous week, weather-wise, but today and tomorrow is being forecast for rain. Ah well....

This week's Top Ten has been pretty active. Congrats to Phigroa, as A Night in Toronto peaks at number one! This pushes out Michael e & Jirka to number two, with Alex Cortiz climbing into number three, and Stephanie Sante into number four. Wow! What a great top of the chart this week! Thanks for the votes everyone!

We have a new entry on the chart this week, as Jojo Effect feat. Iain Mackenzie climbs into the number nine spot. A welcome entry, for sure.

We have a few new Bubbling Under artists this week - Mahoroba, Clelia Felix, and Madbliss, all fighting for a move up into the chart.  Listen in, and they could become one of your favourites.

Thanks for all your support, and keep those votes coming. Thanks for supporting the artists, as you keep the music playing.

Have a great weekend, and....

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 19 May 2018

Happy Saturday!

And if you live (like me) in a country celebrating Britain's Queen Victoria's birthday, you are enjoying a long weekend! Hopefully it will be full of warmth and sunshine!

(Speaking of the Royal family, where you up at the crack of dawn on this side of the pond to watch the proceedings?  Not me....I'll watch the repeat broadcast. But, congrats to the nuptials. )

This warm Spring weather means a rebirth of spirit and enjoying the world of Mother Nature. I, myself, have begun cleaning up and prepping my outdoor space for Summer. Accompanied by the sounds of This is Lounge, it makes for a more relaxed mood.

This week, we see Michael e & Jirka once again holding their own atop the chart. Congratulations! Coming in right behind, we see Jazzy James Jr.'s Quartier Latin bumping above Phigroa for the second spot.

Other notable movement comes from Stephanie Sante, as she shoots up from ninth to fifth.

We've added some great new music, so stay tuned, and vote for your fave at our website.

That being said, thank you again for supporting the station. A shoutout to Phigroa for being one of the station's most vocal supporter on his numerous Facebook posts. Thanks, Phil!

So tune in and see what Phil's talking about!

Stay chilled!

The Top Ten week ending 12 May 2018

Welcome to the Top Ten!

Since tomorrow is very special day, please allow me to wish all the mothers reading this (and listening to the station) a very Happy Mother's Day! I hope you are all treated like a Queen for a day.

Thanks for checking back. Competing with everyone's Spotify lists and Mixcloud mixes, not to mention other radio shows, it's getting tougher and tougher to grab and maintain an audience. I must admit that my audience is not as large as I would like it to be, but the audience that I do have is listening longer. An increase in both would make me very happy. Please spread the word.

Well, this week finally sees a change at the top. Sambox has dropped down to the third position as Michael e & Jirka  grab the top spot. Congrats! Sandwiched in between is NY guitarist Phigroa.

The rest of the artists are shifting as well. Nice to see Alex Cortiz work his way up, as well as Jazzy James Jr. Thanks to your votes at www.thisislounge.com, these artists move up the chart, which in turn, increases there rotation. So if your a fan of Vladi or Stephanie or even Steve Gadd, cast your vote. It's a nice way to feel a part of the station.

Soon enough we should have you voting for Jessica Lauren, Jojo Effect & Iain Mackenzie, and Basia. Since they are bubbling under, they should be moving up in the weeks to come. Stay tuned.

Thanks for supporting the artists. Music doesn't pay for itself.

Stay chilled.

The Top Ten - week ending 5 May 2018

Ah, the weekend! And a Spring weekend at that! Lots of outdoor chores to do now that the snow has melted. So grab that Bluetooth speaker and take it outdoors because you'll need the smooth sounds of This is Lounge to be your Spring spruce-up soundtrack!

I'm all excited about the warm season. Its a rebirth, in a sense. We have come out of hibernation, shedding our heavy clothing, and embracing the sun and the warmth that the season brings.

This week, our chart remains a little intact as Sambox and Michael e & Jirka remain in the top two positions. Wonderful music, you two (three?)! Congrats on holding the positions. Phigroa pushes Sade down the chart a couple of positions, but she's holding strong.

I must say that I am really digging the vibe of the new Alex Cortiz track. Two thumbs up, Alex!

This is totally unintentional, but I have just realized all of the artists whose name begins with the letter "S" on (and recently off) the chart. Perhaps it means "shhhh", as in "be quiet, this is lounge". Ha!

Nope, just a coincidence.

No one made the jump this week from Bubbling Under. You're all enjoying the same artists up there that were there last week. Not to worry, fans of Paul Blackford, Jojo Effect, and Basia, as your songs will work there way into the thick of things soon enough.

Have a great weekend, everyone! Thank you so much for the support! Be sure to tell your friends. Turn us on in the shop or bistro you work at. Have us as you "music on hold" at your business. We're here for you 24/7 - including iTunes!

Stay chilled.
